- Born in Moscow on 17th of April 1818
- Eldest Son of Tsar Nicholas I and Alexandra Feodorovna
- Educated by enlightened liberal-minded private tutors
- Endured rigorous military training(permanently damaged his health)
- Given the opportunity to travel around the Russian Empire ( 7 month tour) at age 19
- From a young age he wanted to do something about the living conditions in Russia
- 1841 married Marie Alexandrovana (daughter of the Grand Duke of Hesse-Darmstadt
- Became Tsar in 1855
- He was nicknamed “The Liberator” because he freed the serfs
- He was assassinated on March 1st 1881
